Oh The Places I've Seen!Where I've been all my lifeAlthough I'm by no means a world traveller, I have been to some fun and interesting places. Here are some of them Clearwater Beach, FloridaThe map points directly to the condo I've stayed in a number of times, rented by my ex-inlaws. Clearwater Beach is a typical Florida vacation spot, with crowded beaches and plenty of tourist stores. The nice thing about being in a condo away from the main beach is it's much quieter.
9/28/2006 : view on map : permalink : comments Ottawa, OntarioOttawa, the capital city of Canada, is a great place to live as long as you don't mind the cold winters. Because all the political bigwigs live there, the city is nice and clean and well maintained.
9/28/2006 : view on map : permalink : comments Skagit Valley Tulip FestivalLocated just north of Seattle, the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival presented incredible views of fields of tulips as far as the eye could see.
9/21/2006 : view on map : permalink : comments Haines, AlaskaHaines reminded me immediately of a small town high up in the mountains in Switzerland, because of the surrounding snow-capped peaks. Not that I've ever been to Switzerland. There are mountains there, right?

8/23/2006 : view on map : permalink : comments St. MartinAt the time, it was Le Meridien, although I believe the resort has changed ownership and names since then. The resort itself was nothing to write home about, but the location was majestic.
8/23/2006 : view on map : permalink : comments Santa Barbara, CaliforniaOne of my favorite US cities, Santa Barbara is just beautiful in every way. If only I could afford to live there.
My son, challenging the ocean. ![]() Morning fog blankets the city. 8/23/2006 : view on map : permalink : comments Las Vegas at New Year'sLas Vegas is a place that everyone should see at least once. Las Vegas on New Year's Eve is a whole different level.
![]() 8/23/2006 : view on map : permalink : comments Algonquin Provincial Park, OntarioOne of the largest parks in Canada, Algonquin sits pretty much smack in the middle of Ontario. Most people only ever see the bottom 5% of the park, where the campgrounds are, but the rest is accessible to die-hard canoeists, hikers or cross-country skiers.
![]() 8/23/2006 : view on map : permalink : comments Belfountain, OntarioIn the midsts of the forks of the Credit River, northwest of Toronto, sits the quaint little village of Belfountain. Consisting of not much more than a 3-way intersection, a bakery/sandwich shop, a couple of knick-knack stores and a conservation area, Belfountain is a popular destination for weekend-bikers (pedal and Harley's alike), due to the no-choice-but-picturesque drive to get there.

10/9/1997 : view on map : permalink : comments Emerald Isle, North Carolina, USAMany earlier vacations were spent on the beach in Emerald Isle, North Carolina, jumping the waves and body-surfing. We actually camped in a campground which still exists amongst all the condos that have been built along the beach since.
8/14/1984 : view on map : permalink : comments London, OntarioLived in London for about 3 years after moving to Canada.
9/14/1974 : view on map : permalink : comments London, EnglandAt the age of six, moving from South Africa to Canada, we stopped in London and were supposed to pick up our Visas there for some reason. They weren't there, and so we ended up spending a week in London waiting for them. I remember pretty much nothing about it, other than it was the first time I'd ever seen a TV. And pigeon landed on my head.
7/18/1973 : view on map : permalink : comments Ramsgate, South AfricaAs a kid, we used to vacation at my grandmother's house in Ramsgate. Monkeys wild in the backyard, fishermen pushing boats down the beach on rollers...
11/14/1972 : view on map : permalink : comments Johannesburg, South AfricaI don't have a picture, but look at the map (link below). This is the house I lived in until I was six, and my family moved to Canada.
