Kerala reminds me visually of Bahia in Brazil with it's coconut trees it's laid back culture and in some ways it's people. These are some pictures of this beautiful State

Vacation! (Beach ) - Ferias! (Praia)

After 3 months without seeing each other, a 24 hour delay in the flight, two weeks that the girls stayed at home while I was in the office, and Libia having a terrible flu, finally the holidays arrived and they could not have been better.

Depois de ficar 3 meses sem a gente se ver, 24 horas de atrazo no voo, duas semanas onde eu trabalhei e as meninas ficaram em casa, a Libia com uma gripe terrivel. Finalmente chegaram as ferias e elas nao decepcionaram nao poderiam ter sido melhores

We stayed most of our time at the pool, Renata simply adored it.

Vacations!!! (The resort) Ferias!!!! (O Resort)

We were blessed in having our room upgraded, so we stayed in one of the best of rooms of probably one of the best resorts in Trivandrum.

A gente foi abencoado de ter um "upgrade" do nosso quarto num resort que eh provavelmente um dos melhores na regiao.

Libia and Renata's Arrival

Their arrival was a nightmare: 24 hours late, 4 hours waiting out in the cold in Heathrow, a scruffy night in a hostel and an appearance on BBC News. Hence the tired but happy looks.

A chegada das duas foi um pesadelo: 24 horas de atrazo, 4 horas esperando no frio no aeroporto, uma noite numa espelunca e uma aparicao no noticiario da BBC. Isto explica os olhares cansados mas contentes.

Kovalam

Kovalam is a beach 30 mins from Trivandrum. It is where all the "cypes" (white people) go, including the Klein family.

Kovalam eh uma praia a 30 mins de Tivandrum. Eh onde todos os "cypes" brancos vao, incluindo a familia Klein.

Trivandrum

This is where I am. It is Kerala's capital, although it is not it's biggest town. As the rest of India it is growing very fast, and it makes you wonder until when it will retain it's tradition and look.

Eh aqui que eu estou. Eh a capital de Kerala, embora nao seja a maior cidade daqui. Igual ao resto da India esta crescendo muito, me faz pensar muito de como devia ser o Brasil de 50 anos atraz, e a gente fica torcendo para que o crescimento destrutivo que aconteceu no Brasil nao se repita aqui.

First Trip - Backwaters

Always that there is an opportunity I travel, these pictures were taken on my first trip here. It was a boat ride in the Kerala backwaters which is a must if you are coming this way.

Sempre que rola uma oportunidade eu dou uma viajada. Estas fotos form tiradas na minha primeira viajem aqui. Eh um passeio de barco pelas "Backwaters" um sistema natural de rios que fica atraz das praias.
