August Headlines

Well, we are rounding around August quickly. Boy, I don't know where all the time goes. We started off the month with Sadie's 17th birthday. She and Amanda went to Baker City to hang with friends. Jerry and I went to McCall. Kim Hess was in town also. We got to hang out for awhile. It was good seeing her again. Just another hot weekend, no wind for sailing. I had the week off work. Painted, helped my mom move. You know fun stuff.
The following week, the girls went to cheer (leading) camp. Jake moved back home after moving out for a week. Jerry was on vacation, on Wed and Thurs night we had our camper packed and headed for the mountains. We were heading for Challis. Stopped at Kirkham hot springs to spend the night. The next morning I was trying to hop accross the wet rocks to look at the soaking pond. Slipped and landed upside down. So, I went for a dip to wash off my clothes. We then drove north, to Stanley. Checked out the lake. Then Jerry tried fishing for awhile. We then continued our trip north. We stopped at the Sunbeam dam, then to the Yankee Fork Dredge. That was way cool, we got to tour the inside of an old gold dredge. We finally made it to Challis. Met up with Drashners, Odgens, Holsingers, and friends. We had such a good time that I forgot to take any photos while in Challis. We went to a street dance Thurs night. Listened to a country guy, can't remember his name, then to Micky and the Motorcars. Friday we tried to play golf, but no carts available so didn't want to exercise too much, so went back to camp and rested. The boys went fishing. Saturday was the big Braun brother concert. It was great, Reckless Kelly, Micky, and the dad's Billy and Gary and Muzzy. Great music.
I also ran into an Indian Medicine man, Iriquois tribe, which is cool, since I have my Mohawk heritage, He has powers. I haven't every talked with an Indian. Then to run into someone from the same nation was pretty neat. He did tell me that I won't have big worries in my life.
We ran into Rico and Carol. We haven't seen them in the lake all summer. They moved to LaGrande this last year. Good to see them.

This last weekend we managed to go to McCall. Sure glad we did. We had a great sail. Jerry actually reefed the mail sail, which he doesn't do very often. We were hitting 7 knots but running 5 1/2 to 6 for most of the time. Wow. We really haven't sailed much this summer. This was great.
Sadie made it to the fair again. Since dad isn't here to show the mules, Sadie helped others, Handed out 2 $500 buckles for the top winners of the events. They were dedicated to my dad. That is great. She was also helping with the FFA events too. Busy girl.
Well, we are just working now. Looking forward to the 31st for our 4th anniversary.

Ok, next is some photos. Hope you all are well, healthy and having fun.

Happy Birthday to Lisa and Phyllis.

July

Wow, what has happened to this month. We had to spend the 4th at home for the first time in a long, long time. Jerry had to work. The girls went to McCall and had a great time. I hav enot been to McCall all month. Not a good thing. We missed one weekend due to heat. Last weekend we spend our weekend with Heather, James and Marty from Id Falls. It was great to have them here visiting. The baby has grown so much.
We have taken weekend drives with our Tahoe. Lets see,,, we drove to Glens Ferry, went to the Camela winery. Mostly a restaurant. Nice drive. Then on the way back, we decided to drive through Prairie. I remember a time when I was about 4 and my grandparents lived there. What a beautiful area. Nice drive.
We drove to Bogus one Saturday night with the Odgen's for the Star Party. The astrological club hosts a night about once a month where they set up there telescopes to view the planets and stars. well, by the time dark came we were too lazy to walk to the party. Had a good time visiting with Dave and Karen.
This weekend Jerry works on Saturday, but we will make it to McCall. The fires in the area are bad and so is the air.
Well, I will attach some more photos. These photos are very random.
Take care, we sure miss all our away friends.

Home sweet home

The month of April has been spend at work and home. Jerry has had the opportunity to work every Sat this month. Sundays have been spent working on the boat and yard. He is doing a great job. I, however, haven't done much except work. We are having a bit of irrigation problems and Jerry is now working on that.
Hopefully the boat will be in the water by next Sunday.

I'll try to share some various photos with you all.

We went way out this time.

Jerry and I went to Florida to see our friends. Celebrated Thomas' new home and another round of birthdays.
We all had a great time. (See Toucanshare's site for the story)
We had Al help us out and he made a cd with photos. It's great, though we are having issues with our computer and the photos. This may take me a few days.

Any way. The big adventures were Sanibel island. This is a small island that is all shells. So, one walks the beach bent over looking for the special shells. Yes, I did come home with 1/2 a gallon zip lock full. Sometimes you just don't grow up.

The sail to St Pete's was great. Good wind. This boat has more than 2 sails on it. We spent the night and on the trip back Jerry and I swapped boats with Dave and Kim. So we had a nice day motoring with the sails up. Ok, no wind. What the Menasco's need is a wind generator. That would help on those nice no wind kind of days. It was fun, nice to visit with Al and Rose. We saw some dolphins and didn't get run over by a frieighter bearing down on us at the Skyway Bridge channel.

We went to the Bradenton museum. They have a plantarium, that is cool. Jerry had a nice nap. Then we got to see a real live manatee. Snooty is the oldest living manatee born in captivity. She is pretty cute. I didn't see much action, except for the bubbles that came from her back end!

The best meals were had at home. Davve Ogden made fish taco's, they were great. Steaks. Pizza.
