Jerry and I had a few days off and not much money, so, we took the Scamp and headed to Yellowstone Park. We left Jake and Sadie home to work and school. (Sorry you two). It was the only time this summer we could both get time off together. Then we both had to be back to work the next Friday. -- lousy!

We left on Saturday morning, took the freeway to Mt. Home then the highway. We stopped at Craters of the Moon park. We figured that if we can't go to Kona, we would pretend. Not as much humidity though. We had fun walking the paths. I was feeling very bad about myself through one path area. The signs kept telling about damage to the rock and ecolife. To not go off the path so we wouldn't damage the rock. Then!, they put a park bench out, but I was unable to use it to rest. It was set too far back from the path! I think the park rangers are pretty sick. We took a hike to a cave, there we were able to "go off the path". We climbed down and walked through and climbed back up. Very cool. We did feel like we were heading out to the beach in Kona, only we didn't find the ocean. So, we left.

Our next destination was to visit James and Heather and baby Marty in Id. Falls. They are in their house and all moved in. What a great house. Marty is 3 months old already. I'm still not sure he really likes me, of course I won't just let him be, alway bothering him. We had a good time. Great dinner Heather cooked. Her parents stopped by. Good to see them.

The next day we had to say goodbye. Headed to West Yellowstone. It was a little cool, little wind. There were reports of snow flurries that morning. We wondered around town, looked at the fly, tackle shops. Next stop. Yellowstone. I didn't realize how big the park is. We entered the west side and our camping spot was on the south entrance, at Grant Village.

We encountered a buffalo walking down the middle of the road first off. Great. I was amazed at how many people stop and take photos of the Great American Bison, and Elk. Ok, I did also. Even though we have more opportunity around here to see these wild creatures it is still awesome site. We did see a black bear. He was midway up the hill and moving. We have a couple of photos, but all you can see is a black spot. The ranger wouldn't let anyone stop on the road to watch him. We walked around most of the geyers. We were almost killed by one bubble pot. It was very bubbly, steamy, hot. It tried to get us.

We spent one day and drove to Cody, WY. Jerry wanted to see the Buffalo Bill Museum. We didn't realize how large the place was. Not just Bill stuff, but Wild West artists displays, Indian's of the area. Then the largest gun collection around. We only saw one floor of the guns. (Who would have thought there could be so many guns and that people would come from all over to see them!)

We managed to have great weather. Cloudless blue skies. 70's. Only the last day there was some wind, not bad.

Jerry got to do some fly fishing a couple of days. He ended up catching a couple of fish. Both times I missed it. I spent the time playing with my camera, taking a million photos. Love the digital camera! Just, point, click, and erase! Can't tell you how great the fish tasted because Jerry put them back. I can't believe he didn't keep them. He knows how much I want to eat some trout. He said something about the rangers not allowing it. But, I would have eatten the evidence.

Well, we are home now. Jerry had to work on Sat. Today, we haven't done much.

I guess I should stop for now, Hope all your adventures are exciting.

Remember, don't dream your life, live your dream.

Aloha, T and J
